Well it has happened only 1 of our 5 boys still gets dressed up for Halloween. Only 1 boy to cheer on during the school Halloween parade and only 1 to chase through the neighborhood- which is good because I am getting to old to keep up with the little ones.

When you have all boys you miss out on all things pink and fairy like. This year was no exception. My youngest wanted to be a zombie! I am a big fan of The Walking Dead, but my younger 4 boys have never seen the show. So I am not quite sure how he decided on the idea of being a zombie. But hey I will play! The costume was store bought (thanks Target) and I did my best with the makeup.

I of course saw an opportunity to take my son down to some empty lots and closed street to do a photo session- he only lasted 15 minutes and this is what we got. Happy Halloween everyone! Utahcountyphotographer_Imagesbyjami_0124Utahcountyphotographer_Imagesbyjami_0123Utahcountyphotographer_Imagesbyjami_0121Utahcountyphotographer_Imagesbyjami_0120Utahcountyphotographer_Imagesbyjami_0122

I met Rachael when she was just a baby in her mother’s arms. We moved to American Fork, Utah 17 years ago. Our first Sunday at church I met the sweetest mom, Elaine. She was holding a brand new baby girl but she was also on crutches because shortly after giving birth she broke her ankle. I was so impressed with her kindness as she welcomed me to church and the neighborhood despite the chaos in her life (she also had four other little children at the time).  If I remember right I was able to hold Rachael on that Sunday afternoon.

Fast forward 17 years, Elaine and I have remained friends and have bonded over raising young children and now raising our teens and young adult children. Both of our husbands have served in our church in the same callings and both have been High School Principals in the same school district. I was thrilled when Elaine contacted me about taking Rachael’s senior photos. I feel we have come full circle! And I must say that Rachael is just as sweet and kind as her mom.

I asked Elaine for ten words that would describe Rachael,

Bright,

determined,

compassionate,

honorable,

athletic,

musical,

inclusive,

beautiful,

diligent,

all-around FUN
